If Tomorrow Never Comes

I just wrote a post about tomorrow and I found a piece that was so good I thought I'd post it too.

Don't put off until tomorrow
what you can do today.
Today is the tomorrow that
you thought about yesterday.
Have you told some one you love them,
did you show them that you care,
if they needed you, were you there?

Don't judge some one else
until you've walked in their shoes.
If you had lived their life
would you not be a different you?
Don't be slow to say you're sorry
and admit your mistakes.
If tomorrow never comes,
Would your heart not ache
for all the things you left undone
and the words you never said?
If you have some one who loves you
then you are truly blessed.

Always count your blessings
for every day you have,
and do your very best
to make every day count.
Leave happy memories
with every one you love,
so it won't hurt so much
if tomorrow never comes.

Too true. I especially like the first four lines; it should belong in the quotations section in my igoogle!

Too bad that many students can't help procrastinating, but that's what poems like this one are for.

This also reminds me of a poem by Wutherford (which is also in circulation in the form of a false chain letter) and I thought you would enjoy reading it too because the two poems are so very similar.

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last

Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,"Hi"
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

so true. WAY TOO TRUE.
live everyday like there's no tomorrow, and feel blessed if you're able to think about yesterday.
i should've said sorry to so many people, should've walked 2 miles in their shoes.
i should've said more to some people, should've said less to others.

and to you sabrina, sometimes i think i've said...just the perfect amount. whadda y'all think?
